Richard Addyngton 1551

In the name of God Amen The 10 day of July in the year of our Lord God 1551 in the first year and reign of our soverign Lord King Edward the six by the grace of God King of England France and Ireland defender of the faith and mercy under Christ of the church of my land and also of Ireland the supreme head Witness that I Rycher Addyngton of the parish of Est perye being sick in body and in perfect remembrance make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God and our blessed Lady and all the Holy Company of heaven to pray for me And my body to be buried within the churchyard of Est perye Item I give and bequeath unto Robert Addyington my brother the lease which his the [b]ack of my house during the years and I give him a black colt and a gray mare and the best of my brass and the deed of gift of all my mother goods and four acres of corn 2 of wheat and one of barley and another of peas towards the finding of my mother and I give him my feather bed with all that long it Item I give unto my mother in law 2 kine 10 sheep young and old and half my linnen and one of my wife best coats Item I give unto Harry Hyllyer my godson a cow Item I give unto Harry Addyington's daughters 20s a piece Item I give unto John Thomas a bullock the which his William Wyttmell Item I give unto William Lorde a cow and a lamb Item I give unto the mother church of Peterborough 2d Item I give and bequeath unto the poor people in alms for to pray for my soul and all Christian souls 40s and I will it my brother Robert Addyngton for to be my executor for to see my Will performed and fulfilled for the goods I have gave him and I will that my ghostly father the vicar and William Addyngton my brother they both to be my supervisors of this my last Will and Testament and the vicar my ghostly father to have for his labour to see my Will performed 5s The residue of all my goods and cattles I give them unto William Addyngton my brother and to Nicholas Addyngton and to John Dy[s]ysewynys children and to Katherine Newton my sister All my goods and cattles unbegiven and unbequeathed I give them to be divided amongst them by equal portions my debts paid off the whole these being witness Roger Lacke and Robert. Wodward margerye conquest with other men
