In the name of God Amen I John Alexander of Potterspury in the county of Northampton yeoman being weak of body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in form following First I give and devise and bequeath all my messuage closes land tenements hereditaments and real estate in the parishes of Paulerspury and Greens Norton aforesaid unto my nephew John Church son of my late sister Susannah Church for and during the term of his natural life and immediately after the decease of my said nephew John Church I do give and devise and bequeath all my real estate last mentioned unto my great nephew John Church son of my late nephew Richard Church grandson of my late sister Susannah Church and to his heirs and assigns for ever, I desire that the Deeds to remain in the Executor's hands till my great nephew comes to age, and all other my two cottages or tenements and all close land hereditaments and real estate in the parish of Potterspury aforesaid and elsewhere , not herein before disposed, of, I leave to my executor John Pittam till my great nephew shall attain to the age of twenty one years if then living then I give devise and bequeath all the premises last mentioned unto my said great nephew John Church son of my said late nephew Richard church and grandson of my late sister Susannah Church and to his heirs and assigns for ever, I give and bequeath to them my said nephew and niece Tomas Church and Elizabeth Dickens son and daughter of my said late sister Susannah Church, fifty pounds a piece to be paid to them my said nephew and niece in six months after my decease if then living and in case they or either of them my said nephew and niece Tomas Church and Elizabeth Dickens shall be dead, I devise the legacy or legacies of them him or her so dying may be paid to and equally divided amongst all and every the several and respective children of them him or her so dying, I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Dancer grand daughter of my sister Elizabeth Lepper the sum of fifty pounds to be paid to her within six months next after my decease. If the said Elizabeth Dancer shall be then living but not otherwise, I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Frances Pittam daughter to my son in law John Pittam the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to her at her age of twenty three years [missing] the comfort and approbation of her father my said son in law John Pittam, I further give and bequeath unto my said grand daughter Frances Pittam all my household goods and implements of household plate pewter linen and china situate and being in and about my dwelling house in Potterpury aforesaid (Excluding the iron back smokepole and dresser and shelves in the kitchen and the grate in the parlour) which I do desire may remain a standards or fixture and go with the freehold and I do desire that no nails nor screws may be drawn except them that saften the clock cases All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels effects money securities for money personal what so ever and where so ever, I give and bequeath unto my said son in law John Pittam he paying there out the several legacies before mentioned and my funeral charges and I do further require and desire that my said son in law John Pittam will make the fortune or portion of his said daughter Frances Pittam equal with the portion of his other daughter excluding the legacy of one hundred pounds and of the household goods given her by my Will as aforesaid, lastly I do appoint my said son in law John Pittam executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all Wills by me here to fore made In witness whereof I the said John Alexander have to this my last Will and testament set my hand and seal the forth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four
