Henry Parker 1557

In the name of god Amen the 18 day of January witness that I Henry Parker of Stratford being of the parish of Potterspurie als Est purie within the county of Northampton husbandman being sick of and whole of mind thanks be given unto Almighty God do make my last Will or Test in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God and to our blessed Lady St. Mary and my body to be buried the churchyard of Potterspurye aforesaid I bequeath to the blessed sacrament pro dermis oblitis 8d I bequeath to the bells in the same church 8d I bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 2d I bequeath to John Parker my son £6 13s 4d 2 sheep a cow the best cupboard 2 platters 2 pewter dishes 2 brass pots 2 kettles a great arcke 3 pair of sheets The residue of my goods unbequeathed I do give them and bequeath them all unto Jone Parker my wife if God do his will by me and do ordain and make her my full executrix and I do make my supervisors John Marret Henry Revyse of Cosgrave to see that this my last Will to be performed and fulfilled they to have for their pains taking 20d a piece witness hereunto Sir Thomas Folwell John Marrit John Gwatkyn
