John Ryddye 1599
In God's Name Amen I John Ryddye of Potterspury in the county of Northampton sick in body but yet of good and perfect memory (thanks be to God) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I give and yield up my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Potterspury and for the goods which the Lord for a time has lent me I give and bequeath as follows First I give and bequeath unto John Ryddy son of Thomas Ryddye my brother two ewe sheep to be delivered to the said Thomas my said brother to the use of the said John his son Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Joan 5s. which she owes me Item I give to my sister Margareat 2s. Item I give and bequeath to my brother Thomas Ryddie 5s Item I give to my brother Anthony Ryddie 5s. Item I give and bequeath to Robert Kent my godchild 12d. All the residue of my goods moveable and unmoveable whatsoever my debts and legacies being paid and my funeral discharged I give and bequeath to Alice Ryddie my wife whom I make soul executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I appoint my maister maister Henry Pedder and maister John Whillocke overseers of this my last Will and Testament in presence of Humfrey Wheatly vicar and the said maister John Whillocke etc.
