Thomas Waight 1598
In God's name Amen Thomas Waight of Potterspury in the county of Northampton husbandman being sick in body but yet of perfect memory thanks be to God do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator redeemer and [saviour] and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Potterspury and for my [illeg] First I give and bequeath to my daughter Anne Waight £10 now remaining [illeg] the hands of Nicholas Waight my father in whose hands my will is that the said sum of £10 shall still remain or in the hands of the executor or assigns of the said Nichols Waight my said father to the use of my said daughter Anne until my said daughter Anne accomplish the age of 21 years and then to be paid to her on the day of her marriage by my said father Nicholas Waight or his assigns And if it please god to take my said daughter Anne out of this life before she accomplish or come of the age of 21 years or before the day of her marriage then my will is that my wife Elizabeth Waight shall have £5 of my said daughter's portion And that the other £5 the residue of my daughter's portion shall be equally divided amongst my three sisters Alice Knotte Anne Colledge and Elizabeth Waight further more I give to Humfrey Colledge my brother in law to the use of his children one ewe Item I give to Richard a lamb hogge Item I give to John Knotte the younger one ewe Item I give to my sister Elizabeth Waight one ewe Item I give to Humfrey Colledge one worser suit of my apparel and to John Knotte my better suit of my apparel All the rest of my goods and chattels moveable and unmoveable my debts and legacies being paid and my funerals discharged I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my wife whom I make sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do make constitute and ordain Nicho: Waight my father and Mr. Wheatley my overseers of this my last Will and Testament and I do give to either of them 12d.
