John Worbytt 1546

In the name of God Amen In the year of our Lord God 1546 the 26 day of January that I John Worbytt of Yerley within the parish of Saint Nicholas of Est pere alias dictus Potts Pere within the diocese of Peterborough make my Will and Testament as this manner and form here following first I bequeath my soul unto Almighty God and to our blessed Lady Saint Mary and to all the blessed company of heaven and my body to be buried within the churchyard of Saint Nicholas first I bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 2d and also I give unto the high alter to the maintainance of it 6d Item to the rood light 4d and to every alter within the church to the maintenance there of 4d a piece Item to the bells 20d Item I give to John Dele 2 strike of barley Item to five priest to say 5 masses for my soul and all the sin souls 6d a piece The residue of all my goods not bequeathed I give them to Helyn Warlett my daughter and to William Worbytt my son and the said Elyn to be my full executors of this my last Will and Testament with the other signatures of Ryc Warynton and Edward Wodward and they to be my supervisors of this my last Will and Testament and they to have for their labour and pains 5s a piece and Rychard Wodward to see that my child take no wrong he to have 2s 4d These being witness Sir John Sucklyng the vicar Ryc Goodman Ryc Wodward and Thomas Yerley with other men
