Barwick Mary, of Grafton Regis, widow intestate, gt. 16 Jan 1685-6 to Alice Payne, of same, spinster, granddaughter and next of kin. Sureties William Harrison, of same clerk, John Browne, of Yardley Gobion, yeoman. Assignment made 27 Nov. 1685 by John Cowley, of the West side of Stony Stratford, Bucks widow , of her right to administer the estate of her deceased sister, Mary Barwick, to the said Alice Payne, one of the daughters of Robert Payne, of Old Stratford parish of Passenham, innholder, on promise of 50s to be paid her by the said Alice Witness, Richard Collins, John Godfrey, John Lacy

To all Christian People to whom this present writing shall come I Joane Cowley of the Stony Stratford in the County of Buckingham widdowe Sister to Mary Barwick of Grafton Regis in the County of Northampton widowe Late Deceased send greeting whereas my said sister Mary Barwicke Dyed intestate. And the right of belongeth unto me the said Joane Cowley Now Know ye that the said Joane Cowley for and consideration of the Sume of Fifty shillings promises to be paid unto me by Alice Payne one of the Daughters of Robert Paine of Old Startford in the Parish of Passenham and county of Northampton Innholder and Grand-Daughter to the said Mary Barwicke
Have transferred signed & set over and by these present do fully clearly & absolutely transfer assign & setover to the said Alice Paine my Niece; all my Right and Title of Administration to any the Estate of my said Sister Mary Barwicke deceased giving and by the presents … granting unto the said Alice Paine my full & whole power of Authoritys in and about the execution of the In Witness of, I the said Joane Cowley have hereunto sett my hand and sealle the Twenty seventh day of November in the first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King James the second
