The Will of Richard Bawcutt. Late of Grafton Regis Grazier Deceased
In the Name of God Amen. I Richard Bawcut of Grafton Regis in the County of Northampton. Grazier. Do make this my last will and Testament in manner following. First I give and bequeath unto my Son John Bawcut all my Stock on this farm Lands in my occupation in Grafton Regis aforesaid. Also I give and bequeath unto my said Son John Bawcut and my Daughter Grace Adams all my household Goods whatsoever to be equally divided between them share and share alike by my Trustees herein after named. Also I give and bequeath unto my Housekeeper Mary Adams one hundred Pounds. Stock in the three (percent) consolidated Bank Annuitys and I do hereby pay the same to her and for her Benefit accordingly. Also I give and bequeath unto John Elloit of Towcester in the County of Northampton Grocer and John Plowman of Caldicot in the Parish of Towcester aforesaid Grazier their Executors Administrators and Assignees four hundred Pounds Stock in the three percent consolidated Bank Annuitys residue of the said five hundred Pounds three percent consolidated Bank Annuitys Upon Trust in the [reposed] that they the said John Elliot and John Plowman their Executors Administrators and Assignees do and shall either sell out the principal or continue the same at Interest therein or place the same from Time to Time in other Securitys as they shall seem meet. And upon Trust that they the said John Elliot and John Plowman their Executors Administrators and Assignees do and shall from Time to Time during the natural Life of my said Daughter Grace Adams the Wife of Jonathan Adams of Paulers Pury in the said County of Northampton yeoman pay the yearly Interest and produce of the said four hundred Pounds to and for the sole separate and particular use and benefit of my said Daughter Grace Adams in such a manner and at such times yearly as they my said Trustees or the Survivors of them or the Executors Adminstrators of such Survivors shall think fit and in the same manner to all intent and purpose as though she my said Daughter was a same sole absolutely exclusive of the Power and [control] of the said Jonathan Adams her Husband and whomwith he shall not intermeddle or have ant thing to do neither shall the same or any Part thereof be subject or liable to their [control] Debts or engagements of the said Jonathan Adams neither shall he have any thing to do therewith or with the disposal thereof or any Part thereof and that the Receipt and Receipts of my said Daughter Grace Adams for the yearly Interest or produce of the said four hundred Pounds or so much thereof as she will receive or which shall be paid to her shall notwithstanding her from Time to Time be a good and sufficient Discharge and Discharges to my said Trustees their Executors Administrators and Assignees for the same or so much thereof which she shall actually receive or for what yearly Interest Money shall be paid by her direction in her lifetime. And upon this further Trust that if it shall happen my said Daughter shall dye and the said Jonathan Adams her Husband shall her survive that then they the said John Elliot and John Plowman and the survivors of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivors do and shall out or assign and pay the said four hundred Pounds unto such Person or Persons and his or her or their Executors Administrators and Assignees respectively at such Days and Times and to and for such uses and Trust and in such a manner as my said Daughter Grace Adams shall during … between her and her said Husband and not withstanding her coverture by any writing or wishing under her Hand and Seal to be attested by two or more credible Witnesses or by her last Will and Testament under her Hand and Seal to be attested by the like number of Witnesses shall from Time to Time direct limit bequeath or appoint and for want of such division limitation bequest or appointment so to be made by my said Daughter Grace Adams as aforesaid. Their upon Trust to pay the said four hundred Pounds three percent Consolidated Bank Annuitys unto the said Mary Adams my Housekeeper to whom I give the same accordingly. And if it shall happen that my said Daughter shall survive the said Jonathan Adams her Husband then upon Trust that they the said John Elliot and John Plowman and the Survivors of them and the Executors Administrators of such Survivors do and shall within six Kalendar Months next after such Decease of the said Jonathan Adams sell out or assign and pay the said four hundred Pounds unto my Daughter Grace Adams her Executors Administrators or Assignes to and for her and their own use and benefit. Also my Will and desire is that all my just Debts decent funeral Expenses and the charges of proving this my Will shall be paid by my Executors after named. Also all the residue of my Money and Securitys for Money and personal Estate whatsoever Wheresoever I give and bequeath the same unto John Elliot and John Plowman - nevertheless to and for the sole use and benefit of my said Son John Bawcut for ever. Also I do hereby nominate consolidate and appoint the said John Elliot and John Plowman Executors of this my last Will and I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I the said Testator Richard Bawcut have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal the second - Day of March - in the year of our Lord One thousand and sevenhundred and eightyfour.
