Thomas Baynard 1654
I Thomas Baynard of Grafton Regis in the County of Northampton beinge weeke in body but of perfect memorie blessed bee the lord my God Doe make my Last Will in manner and forme ffollowinge Imprimis I give unto my lovinge and faithfull Wife Jane Baynard All those my house and Lands Lyinge and beinge in Grafton aforesaide Hartwell and Rhoade with all their Appurtenances belonginge to the Mannor of Grafton aforesayde I give alsoe to her my sayde Wife all the rent due to mee out of that estate of Land which I bought of the States of the Commonwealth of England and is situate in Dethropt (Dogsthorpe) in the Parrish of Peterborough in the County of Northampton aforesayde During her naturall life Item I give to my sayde Wife Tenn Quarters of oates with all my moveable goods and chattels except Gradne to bee disposed of by her Item I give unto William Baynard my sonne five shillings Item I give to the three children of my daughter Vizt Thomas Hester and Ledya a Tenn pounds a peece Item I give to my daughter Silence Wife of John Benton Thirty pounds Item I give to my daughter Jane ffifty pounds Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth ffifty pounds Item I give to my Sister Rebecca wife of Richard Collens fforty shillings Item my Will is that all the aforesyde Legaries bequeathed to my daughters and daughters children and my Sither shall bee payde by my Executors within two years after my decease But incase either of my daughters Jane or Elizabeth doe happen to marry before the expiration of the two yeares before mentioned for the payment of the aforesyde legaries bequested them That then my Will is that the sayde Legaries Shall bee upon the day or dayes of their severall marriages Item alsoe my Will is That if both my two daughters should depart this life unmarried within five years after my decease that then my Executors pay ffifty pounds to Jane my saide wife Item I give to my Sonne Thomas Baynard and his heires fforever All those my houses and Lands Scituate and beinge in Eastfield in the Parrish of Peterborough aforesayde item I give to my Sonne Thomas Baynard and to the heires of his body all the houses and Lands with all their Appurtenances before bequested unto the sayde Jane my wife after her decease Item alsoe I give All my Estate houses and lands which I latele purchased of the Trustees for the Common Wealth after the decease of Jane my Sayde Wife To Thomas my Sayde Sonne And to the heires of his body And for want of such heires I doe bequeath all the before mentioned Estate of houses and Lands before bequeathed to Thomas my Saide Sonne to my foure daughters aforementioned and their children to bee equallie divided beteewne them Item Lastly I give and bequeath on Thomas my Sayde Sonne All the rest of my goods and chattels not before bequeathed Whom I doe ordaine hereby make and appointe Sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale This 19th day of September 1653 Thomas Baynard: Signed and Sealed in the presence of us William Tabor John Horton Robert Kingston
This Will was proved at Westminster the last day of May in the yeare of our Lord Accordinge to the computation of the Church of England onethousand sixhundred ffifty four before the Judges for Probate of wills and grantinge of Administratiopn Lawfully Authorized by the oathe of Thomas Baynard the naturall and Lawfull Sonne of the Saide deceased And Sole Executor named in this Will of the saide deceased To Whom was Committed Administration of all and Singular the goods chattels and Debts of the Saide deceased Hee beinge first Sworne well and truly to Administer the Same
