In the name of God Amen I William Foster of Grafton Regis in the county of Northampton Gent being well in body and of perfect mind and memory do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty god hoping through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer to receive free pardon of all my Sinns And as for my body I commit the same to the Earth from where it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named And as for my worldly Estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and devise unto my daughter Ann Tombs Thirty pounds to be paid to her in manner following (that is to say) five pounds per annum until the whole summe shall be paid her The first payment to begin and be made within five months next after my decease upon Condition never the lesse that my said daughter shall at the receipt of the first five pounds give such a discharge unto my Executrix as shall release all other claims and demands to be made by my said daughter save only to this Legarcy of Thirty pounds Item I give and devise unto my son Thomas Foster's children forty shillings item I give and devise unto my Granddaughter Martha Bigerdyke five pounds item I give and devise unto my Grandson Thomas Smith Twenty shillings Item I give and devise unto my Granddaughter Margarett Tombs forty shillings Item I give and devise unto my son John Foster's two Children five shillings a piece Item I give and devise unto my Grandson William Johnson five pounds to putt him out an apprentice in my life time Item whereas my Son William Foster deceased by his last will and testament did give and bequeath unto me one annuity or yearly rent of one hundred pounds per annum of lawful money of England for and during the term of my naturall life to be issuing and going out of all his Messuage or Tenancy of Lands situate in the parish of Bromly in the County of Kent to be paid unto me at two payments in the year Birth of our Lord god and the feast of St. John Baptist as made by the said will (relation being thereunto had) it doth and may more fully and at large appear And whereas the yearly rents of the said estate have not hereunto been sufficient to pay me my said annuity of one hundred pounds per annum I do therefore give and devise and bequeath unto my loving wife all such arrears or summes of mony whatsoever as are or shall be behind and unpaid of my said Annuity at the time of my decease item I give and devise unto Alice my said loving wife All the remainder of my Lease and Term of years to come in all that my inn situate in Grafton Regis aforesaid with the appurtenances called and known by the name of the Three blaky Moore heads and also all my goods and chattels hereby unbequeathed I give and devise and bequeath unto Alice my said loving wife whom I do hereby make constitute and appoint full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament Revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament sett my hand and seale this Nine and Twentith day of March In the second year of the reign of our Soverign Lord and Lady by the Grace of god of England Scotland and France and Ireland King and Queen Defenders of the Faith Anno Dom One thousand six hundred and ninety
