In the name of God Amen. The 18 day of October in the 22 year of the Reigne of our sovereign Lady Elizabeth by the grace of god of England France and Ireland Queen Defender of the faith etc.[1580] I Agnes Goodman of Grafton Regis in the countie of Northampton of good and perfect memorie Almighty god be thanked for it, do by the consent and assent of my husband John Goodman [now lyving] make [and ordeyne] this my last will and testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my soule to Almighty god my maker and to [Jhesus christ] his onely sonne my savior and redeemer [hopinge] by his [death] and [passyon] to obtayne free redemption of all my synes my bodie I give to the earth to be buried in [such decent order as] my ffrends then [next about] me [shall] think good Item I give to the church of [Grafton towards the repayring of it xijd Item I give to the church of ] Potterspurie [xijd] Item I give to [syxe] poore folke [dwelling within] Grafton [parishe vj pecks] of Barley Item to the [parson] of Grafton [xijd] Item I give to William Broke and his wife my daughter [iijs iiijd] Item I give to Anthony So[wersbie and Jonne his wife iijs iiijd] Item I give to Miles [Canfild hale a quarter of] pease Item I give to my sonne Thomas Windmyll [two busshell] of Barley Item to [everie] one of the poore folke of Grafton before mentioned [an appron] Item I give to Jone the daughter of Margarett Grace [vjd] Item to [Beatrice] the daughter of Miles Canfild one [shepe] Item to Elizabeth [Warden] the daughter of {Richard Warden] of Potterspurie a Lambe of the same [shepe] Item I give to my daughter Anne [Canfild] my best gowne Item to Be[atrice] her daughter [an old cote] to make her a gowne Item to William Goodman's wife dwelling in Grafton [iijs iiiid] Item I give to Nicholas Wyndmill my sonne a [ a hyve of bees and iijs iiijd towards the [buyenge of some pewter] Item to my daughter Elizabeth Goodman all my other [naperie] Item to [everie] of my daughter's [at home an apron.] Item I give to Richard Warren three bushels of barley [which he hath in his custodie.
