In the name of God Amen The tr…..th day of December in the year of our Lord god one thousand six hundred ffifty and three I Ann Goodman of Grafton Regis in the County of Northampton Widdowe beinge weake in body but of good and perfect memory God bee praised therefore Do make and ordaine this my Testament and Last Will in manner and forme ffollowinge That is to Say first I commend my soule unto Allmighty god hopreinge ass… to bee Saved and to inherit the Kingdom of heaven by the Death and passion of my only Lord and Savior Jesus Christ And my body I Leave to Dust from whence it came And I doe desire it may be buried at the Discretion of mine Executor herein after named And as four linge the orderinge and Disposinge of all my goods chattels ffirst I give and bequeath unto my Sonn John Seawell the Somme of five pounds of Lawfull monie of England to bee payd unto him his Executors and Administrators or Assignes within one yearenext after my Decease Item I give unto the daughter of my sayd Sonn John Seawell the Somme of ffourty Shillings to bee payd unto her within one yeare next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonn ffrancis Seawell the Somme of ffive pounds of Lawfull monie of England to bee payded him his Executors Administrators or assignes within one yeare next after my Decease Item I give and bequeath unto my SonnWilliam Seawell the Somme of Tenn pounds of lawfull monie of England to be payd unto him his Executors Administrators or assignes within one yeare next of my Decease Item I give unto William Seawell Edward Seawell and Thomas Seawell the three Sonns of my Sayd Sonn William Seawell to each of them fforty shillings a peece to be payd unto them within two years after my Decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonn Samuel Goodman the Somme of Thirty pounds of Lawfull monnie of England to bee payd unto him his executors Administrators or assignes in manner followinge That is to Saye Tenn pounds thereof within Six months next after my Decease And the other twenty pounds to be payd within one yeare and an halfe yeare next after my Decease Item I give unto my Sayd Sonne Samuell Goodman the monie or one halfe of all the Cropps of wheat Barley pease haye oates and other graine whatsoever which was growinge in and upon the land belonginge to Whalisffarme the last Summer and Lately ended Item I give unto my Sayd Sonn Samuell Goodman one Cowe at his choyse and one heifer of two yeares old and the ffeather ben in the Buttery Chamber with the bedsted and the furniture thereunto belongingeand one paire of sheetes item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Alice Lynnell the Somme of Twenty pounds of lawfull monie of England to be payd unto her Executors Administrators or Assignes within one year next after my Decease Item I give unto my Sayd Daughter Alice Lynnell All my Geese and one bedsted beinge in the Parlor Chamber in my now dwelling house and my biggest Kettle Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Marshall and Richard Marshall the two Sonns of my daughter Alice Lynnell the Somme of Twenty pounds a peece to remain in my Executors hands until they shall come to the age of one and twenty yeares payeinge the Interest thereof yearly unto my Sayd Daughter Alice And if either of them Shall happen to Dye befour they come to the age of one and twenty yeares Then my Willis that the one halfe of his sayd portion shall remain to the use of his sayd brother And the other halfe Shall bee payd unto my Sayd Daughter Alice Lynnell her Executors or Assignes And if both of them Shall happen to Dye before they come to the age of one and twenty years Then my Will is that both their Sayd portions or Sommes of Money soe given afoursayd shall bee payd unto my daughter Alice Lynnell her executors Administrators or assignes And further of the Saide Thomas and Richard Marshall shall live until they bee fitt to be Prentices my Executors shall disburse soe much of the Saide Somme of Twenty pounds a peece as shall binde them to their trade And the rest to remaine in his hands until the tyme of their age as aforesayde payinge the interest unto my Saide Daughter Alice for soe much of the Sayd Legaries as shall then beand remaine in his hands Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchild Ann Seawell the Somme of tenn pounds of lawfull monie of England to bee payed unto her when she shall come to the age of one and twenty years or day of Marriage which shall first happen Item I give unto my Saide grandchilde Ann Seawell ffoure Sheepe the featherbed and bedsted whereon I noe lye and all the furniture thereunto belonginge two paire of sheetes and the box wherein I Lay my Lynnen And my Will is if my Executors shall refuse to have her live with him then the saide tenn pounds and goods soe bequeathed unto her as before Sayd shall bee payd and Delivered unto at her goeinge away Item I give unto my Saide Sonne Samuell Goodman one paire of Cart Wheeles the same wheeles whereon his Cart now standeth one plow one paire of Harrows and my Least brasse Kettle Item I give unto Edward Goodman my brothers Sonn the Summ of five shillings Item I give unto Thomas ffascott the Sonne of Robert ffoscott the Somme of five shillings Item I give unto the poore people of Grafton Regis the Somme of five Shillings And Concerninge all my Lands Tenements and hereditments unto whatsoever and wheresoever This my last Will and Testament ffirst I give and bequeath unto my Sonn William Seawell All that peece or parcel of Ley ground Containinge by estimation one Acre bee the Sume more or lesse Commonly called or known by the name of Milkinge Leyes Lyeinge and beinge within the Parrish of Grafton Regis aforesaid adjoininge to the Towne Together with all Trees Hedges hedgrowes bushes Commons and Common of pasture profits Commodities and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belongeinge To be had and holden unto him my sayd Sonn William Seawell his heires and assignes fforever Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonn Anthony Goodman All that my ffarme Messuage or Tenement wherein I now Dwell Situate and beinge in Grafton Regis aforesaid And all the Lands Leyes and Meadows and grounds whatever to the same belonginge Situate Lyeinge and beinge in Grafton Regis aforesaid or else where in the Sayd county of Northampton (except the peece or parcel of Ley ground by mee given and bequeathed unto my sayd Sonne William Seawell and his heires as aforesaide to bee had and holded unto my Saide Sonne Anthony Goodman his heires and Assignes fforever And of this my last Will and Testament I doe make and ordaine my Sonne Anthony Goodman Sole Executor to whom I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods and chattels unbequeathes my Debts and ffuneral expences beinge first payed and discharged And of this my last Will I doe Nominate and appointe Richard Goodman of Pauerspury in the saide county of Northampton yeoman and Edward Gray of the same Towne and County yeoman to bee Overseers to bee wydeinge and assistinge in all things honest and Lawfull to my Executors in and aboute the Executors of this my Last will To whom I give for their paines herein to bee taken ffive shiilings a peece And I revoke all ffomer Will by mee made And alsoe only this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale this Daye and yeare first above This Will was proved at Westminster the Thirteenth Daye of Aprill in the yeareof our Lord God Accordinge to the Computation of the Church of England one thousand six hundred ffifty and foure before the Judges for Probate of Wills and grantinge Administrations Lawfully Authorized by the oath of Anthony Goodman the Naturall and lawfull Sonne of the Saide Deceased And Sole Executor named in this Will of the Saide Deceased To whom was Committed Administration of all and Singular the goods chattels and debts of the saide Deceased hee beinge first Sworne by virtue of a Commission well and truly to Administer the Same
