George Hutchinson 1623
In the Name of God Amen I George Huchenson late of Grafton Regis in the Countie of Northton Carpenter being weake in bodie but of good and perfect memorie god bee praised Doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following. First I bequeath my soule to God my Creator hoping for salvation in and through Christ Jesus my only Savior and my bodie to bee buried at the will and pleasure of my executor Inprimis I give to the poore of Cottingham in the County of Northton the summe of three shillings foure pence. Item I give to the poorer so[rt]e inhabiting within the Towne of [Middleton] a member of the Parish of Cottingham aforesaid the likewise summe of three shillings foure pence. Item I give to everyone of my Grandchildren that is to say Robert [Sumt]er, Edward Sumter and John Sumter Two shillings a peece , And to every of my Daughter Catherine's Children two shillings a peece and to every of my Daughter Agnes hir Children two shillings a peece Item I give to George Smith my Grandchild and Godsonne the summe of seven shillings. Item I give to Edward All[iwincles] and Katherine his wife Twelve p[ence] a peice: Item I give to Agnes Battison my Grandchild the summe of Two shillings. Item I give to the poore of Grafton Regis aforesaid the summe of Two shillings and six pence. The rest of my goods and chattels Lands and Tenements or hereditaments whatsoever unbequeathed [within the realm] of England or [else] where, I give and bequeath to Edward Ward my sonin law whom I make sole executor of this my last will to have and to hold to him & his heirs forever Which said Edward Ward I make [constitute] & ordaine sole executor of this my last Testament hereby revoking all former Legacies and bequests whatsoever And I desire Mr. John [Marrett] the younger & Mr. William Watson of [Perry] Lodge to bee overseers of this my Last Testament to see the [same performed respectivelie] as is before expressed. In witness whereof I have sett to my marke the thirteenth day of November in the year of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord James that is to say of England the one & Twentieth 1623.
