In the name of god Amen. the xvijth [17] daie of the monete of Maye, the yeare of our Lord god 1607 I William Seywell of Grafton Regis in the Countie of Northampton husbandman, weake of bodye, but being of whole mynde & in good and perfect remembrance, laude and praise be to Allmightie god, doe make and ordaine this my present testament conteyning therein my last will in maner and forme following, Viz. ffirst I commend my soule unto allmightie god my maker and redeemer, and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the parishe of Grafton aforesaid neare unto my wife late deceased. Item I give towarde the reparcion of the said parishe church v[5]s. Item to the Cathedrall church of Peterburgh ij[2]d. Item I doe give to William Seywell my younger sonne xl li. [£40] and one pyed cowe, and one ioynde beddstedd, or 13s 4d in money at his choyce. one Mattres, one covering , one payre of sheets and a bolester. Item I give and bequeath to Agnes my Daughter xx li [£20] two heyfers , one redd, the other to be appoynted att the discrecion of my overseers, and six sheepe hogrells . Item I give to three of Thomas Neale his children , and three of Richard Benions children to everie one of them x[10]s. Item I give to Isabell my daughter x[10]s . Item I doe give to fower of my godchildren namelie Henry Whalley, Richard Cooke, William Wynmyll, and James Bruffe every one of them xij[12]d. Item I give and bequeath towards the reparacion of the highe waie between Blacklaneston and Stonbridge foorde xx[20]s. Item I will that all such Debts and dewties as I owe of right or of conscience to anie person or persons be well and truelie contented and paid by myne Executors hereafter named , or els ordaine to be paid without anie delaie or contradiccion. The residue of my all my goods chattels and debts after my debts be paid, my bodie honestlie brought to the grownd; and these my Legacies conteyned in this my present testament fulfilled, I whollie give and bequeath to John Seywell my eldest sonne, whom I doe make & ordaine my sole Executor of this my last will and testament, and of the execucion of the same I doe make & ordaine Thomas Watson clerke and Nicholas Wynmyll my Overseers. Provided allwaies and it is my will mynde and entent, that for the payment of the Legacies above named of xl li. [£40] to William Seywell & xx li [£20] to Agnes Benion my said Executor to have two yeares space next after my decease for to paie them: the one moitie or halfe the first yeare, and the other the second yeare by equall porcions. And I utterlie revoke & adnull all and everie other former testament and wills Legacies & bequests by me willed and bequeathed . These being my witnesses.
