Nicholas Winmyll 1624
In the Name of God Amen. I Nicholas Winmyll of Grafton Regis in the Countie of Northampton yeoman Crasye in bodie but of good and perfect memory for the which I gyve heartie thanks to allmyghtie God make and constitute this my Last will and Testament in Manner and forme followinge That is to saye first I commend my soule into the mercyfull hands of Allmightie God hopinge to be saved by the meryts of his Deare sonne and my Savior Jesus Christ, and my bodie to be buryed in the Church yarde of Grafton aforesayd. Item I gyve to Elizabeth and Joane Winmyll the daughters of John Wynmyll my sonne deceassed and eyther of them tenne pounds a peece to be payde unto them when they shall severally accomplish the full age of sixteene yeeres. Item I gyve to Joane Wynemyll the daughter of Thomas Wynmyll my Brother fforty shillinges to be payd unto her att her daye of Marriage. Item I gyve and bequeath to Nicholas Wynmyll sonne of the sayde John Winmyll fyve pounds to be payde unto him when he shall accomplish the age of one and Twentie yeeres being the tyme when he shall enter upon the Lande Left unto him by his sayde ffather John Wynmyll. And my will is that if my Daughter Catherine decease not leavinge a sonne Lyvinge of her bodie Lawfully begotten. Then I gyve and bequeath to the said Nicholas my sonne's sonne the Lease of the Messuage wherein I nowe dwell with all the appurtenaunces thereunto belonginge: And further my will is that yf yt please God to take out of this Lyfe one or any of the Children of my sayde Sonne John, that then the Legacy and gyft soe given to them soe deceasinge shalbe and remayne to him her or them soe survivinge. Item my will is that Thomas Bell the sonne of Richard Bell my Sister's sonne shall have the governance and managinge of my sonne's Children stockes and my Lease yf yt shall happen to fall to them or any of them till the said Nicholas shall come to the age of three and twentie yeeres, and the sayde daughters shall eyther of them accomplish the age of foure and twentie yeeres , And I gyve unto the sayde Thomas Bell for his care and diligence herein to be taken Tenne shillinge. Item I give and bequeath to the reparyre of the high wayes within Grafton betwene the topp of the Hill and the hither or honnward arch Tenne shillings And to John Webbs sonne Nicholas twelve pence; And to my god sonne Nicholas sonne of Edward Mason twelve pence; And to my god daughter Jane the daughter of William Winmyll Twelve pence. And my will is that none of my goods and Chattell be used to the paymente of strangers dettes. Item the rest of my goodes and Chattells as well Reall as personal I gyve and bequeath unto Margery my wife and to Catherine my daughter whom I make Executors of this my Last Will and Testament In Witnesse whereof I the sayde Nicholas Winmyll have hereunto putt myne hande and seale geven the foure and Twentieth daye of October in the year of our Lord God One Thowsand sixe hundred twentie and Three and in the yeere of the Reigne of our soveraigne Lord James by the grace of God of England ffrance and Ireland Kinge defender of the faith etc. the xxjth [21st] and of Scotland lvijth [57th] And my will is that my sayde Wife and Daughter shall have and enioye my Lease of my sayde Messuage and Tenament with all and singular thapurtenaunces thereto belonging for and duringe their naturall Lyves and the Longer Lyver of them anything herein contayned to the contrary not with standinge

Memorandum that this codicill was annexed as a further addicion and explanacion of the premises by me the sayde Testator the seventeenth daye of June Anno Domini 1624 as followeth That is to saye that whereas yt || hath pleased god to give unto my daughter Katherine a sonne my will is that he shall have the Lease of my house wherein I dwell with the proffitts and hereditamentsthereunto belonging ymediately after the death of my wyf and daughter And that yf God call his Child out of this lyfe, That the the eldest sonne that she shall have successively shall have the same But yf she shall have noe sonne my will is that the same Lease shall descend as aforesaid any thing abovesaid to the Contrary notwithstanding. Item I give and bequeath to Joane Wynmyll abovesaid. more, an heffer And to the pore of Grafton aforesaid Tenne shillings, In witnes whereof I have to this Codicill as a confirmacion hereof and of the premisse subscribed my marke in the presence of Nicholas Lemme Clark
