My dear Henry when it shall please God to take me out of this world in which I must soon expect to be taken from where I hope to have some what is right and proper I shall probably have little to leave having always wi[sh]ed to see my friends enjoy what I could afford them hope to leave no debts behind me if any should be left would wish to have it thus disposed of the furniture of my house in Brook St. to yourself I have two pictures belonging to me in the present Duke of Grafton's possession that were left to by your father his picture in my house would wish you to have trinkets lace to be divided amongst my daughters one gold watch to my son William the other to my son John my wearing apparel to my maid at the time having thousand two hundred pounds in the four percent consols could wish to have that transferred to my daughter Lady Augusta Cavel and her daughter Augusta Louis Cavel on her mother's decease but trusting to you to do what is right I would wish to be buried in the parish where I die and in the plainest manner from your affec[tionate] mother Elizabeth Grafton Ldy to Lord Henry FitzRoy Superscribed Lord Henry FitzRoy

Appeared personally William Langslow of Lower Brook Street on the county of Middlesex late house steward to her Grace the Dowager Duchess of Grafton and Elizabeth Cruess wife of Frederick Cruess of the same place late house keeper to the late Dowager Duchess of Grafton who being sworn to depose the truth made oath that they have been respectively in the service of the said Most Noble Elizabeth Dowager Duchess of Grafton widow of his Grace the Most Noble Augustus Henry Duke of Grafton for many years prior to her death which happened on the twenty fifth day of … last and during such their knowledge of the said deceased they have often seen her write her name to writings and have thereby come to know and be well acquainted with her manner and character of handwriting and subscription and the deponents having now looked upon and carefully perused the paper writing now hereunto annexed purporting to be and [con…] the last Will and Testament of the said deceased beginning thus Brook St. June 18th. 1820 My dear Henry when it shall please God to take me out of this world and thus from your affec[tionate] mother thus subscribed Elizabeth Grafton and thus addressed so Lord Henry FitzRoy and is subscribed Lord Henry FitzRoy these deponents depose that they do verily and in their consciences believe the whole body … and contents of the said Will beginning and ending as aforesaid and the said subscription thereto and the address and superscription there unto be all of the proper handwriting subscription addressing superscription of Her Grace the said Most Noble Elizabeth the Dowager Duchess of Grafton deceased and of now other W.
