Valuation of Grafton Manor.
4th February 1627/8

Farm of divers cottages erected on the waste 7s. Profits of the courts 16s-8d per annum.

The lordship of Grafton and manor of Hartwell are adjoining to His Majesty's principal manor house and ancient seat of the honor called Grafton honor, by Act of Parliament inacted 33 Henry VIII (April 1541-1542) that the same which before had been taken for manor of Grafton should be taken from thenceforth to be the cheefe principall and capitall parte and place of the whole honor.

Out of the rents of Grafton is yearly allowed £12-18s-2d parcel of the value for lands longe since inclosed within the parkes of Grafton and Hartwell, these being deducted the remayne for Grafton is £77-10s-8d.Capital messuage called Grafton house is now part of this value.

The parks of Grafton, Hartwell and Perry are now parcel of the value, but are together with the site and capital messuage called Grafton house and all lands sometime parcel of the lordship and manor house now enclosed in the said parkes.
