In the NAME OF God Amen I John Atkins of Haversham in the County of Bucks Esq. Doe make and ordain this my present last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz: First I commend my Soul into the hands of my Creator and my Body I committ to the Earth to be buried with as little charge as possible and as touching such temporal Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose there of as followeth vizt First Debts and Funerall charges to be paid Item I give to my Brother Ralph Atkins all my houses land and other Effects excepting Negroes on the Island of St. Christopher Item I give and bequeath to my Brother Richd Atkins the five Negroes that I left in his possession Viz: Quibo Jenny Jack Scipio and Stephen Item I leave and bequeath to my Sister Annabella the sum of Ten pounds for mourning All the rest and residue of my personall Estate goods and Chattells whatsoever I doe give and bequeath to my Trusty and wellbeloved Friend Francis Chester Esqr. Whom I doe hereby constitute my full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament And I desire my Body may be buried in the parish Church of Newport Pagnell near my Father Sir Richd Atkins And I doe hereby revoke disannull and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said John Atkins have herunto sett my hand and seal this tenth day of September Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred and nineteen John Atkins Signed Sealed Published and Declared in the presence of us Laurence Gregory Thomas Dear

He was an MP for Buckinghamshire in the period 1695 – 28 November 1696 and a baronet.
