Thomas Greene 1642
In the name of God Amen The one and twentieth day of June Ano Dim 1642 I Thomas Greene the elder of Haversham in the County of Bucks miller being weake in body but of memory perfect and sound thanks bee to almighty god Doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme as followes vizt Imprimis I give and bequeath my soule to almighty god the Author and firnisher of our faith And my body to bee decently buryed in the parish Churchyard of Haversham aforesaid And fore my worldly goods I will dispose of them as followes Item I give and bequeath unto my eldest sonne George Greene the sume of twenty shillings of lawfull English money to bee paid to him three monethes after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchild George Greene sonne of the aforesaid George the sume of six poundes of like lawfull money of England to bee paid to him or to his use at the age of fforoweteene yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Henry Greene xijd Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne the wife of Leonard Child xijd Item I give and bequeath unto my grandchild Anne Child the daughter of Leonard Child the sume of twenty shillings to be payd unto her one yeare after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Alice the wife of John ffletcher the summe of tenn poundes of lawfull money of England to bee payd unto her or to her eldest Child at two severall Dayes of payment as followes vizt the first payment to begin and to bee payd at the end of three monethes after my decease five poundes And the other five pounds to bee paid at the end of one yeare next after the first payment I alsoe give and bequeath unto her the bedstead wherein I nowe lye together with one fetherbedd on it and alsoe one boulster and one paire of blankets item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the wife of George Newell xijd Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandchildren the Children of George Newell Mary, George and Thomas the summe of twentie shillings apiece The said summe of twentie shillings to bee payd unto Mary at the end of one yeare after my decease And the other two George and Thomas their twentie shillings a peece to bee paid to them at the age eight years a peece And my will is that if either Mary George or Thomas or either of them Dye before the day of any of these payments that the sayd sume of twentie shillings a peece shall returne to the survivor or survivors of either of them Item I give and bequeath unto my grandchild Ann ffletcher the daughter of John ffletcher twenty shillings to bee paid unto her or to her father or mother at the end of seaven years after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my other Grandchild Anne Greene the daughter of my sonne Thomas Greene the sume of twentie shillings to bee payd unto her at of one yeare after my decease And all the rest of my goods and Chattells in the world which I have nowe in my possession unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Greene who is nowe livinge in the howse with mee whom I make my full executor of this my last will and testament after hee the said Thomas hath my debtes payd And alsoe payd the Legaryes before granted And alsoe my funeral discharged And in wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Day and yeare first above written Signed and sealed in the presence of us the marke of ffrancis Scrivener and John Sawsbie
