In the Name of God Amen I Joanna Matthews of Haversham in the County of Bucks being in perfect health of body and of sound and disposing and memory praised be God for it But calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal Life and being willing to Settle and dispose of my Money herewith it hath pleased God to bless mee before I go thence I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named in humble hopes of a Joyfull Resurrection of Eternal Life And as for my Worldly Affairs I dispose of as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Sister Elizabeth Atterbury of Haversham the Yearly Produce or Interest of Two Hundred Pounds so long as she lives and after her decease I dispose of the Money as followeth Item I give to my Neice Elizabeth Atterbury Daughter of Henry Atterbury of Haversham Eighty Pounds to be paid to her out of the Two Hundred Pounds Item I give to my Nephew Henry Atterbury Son of Henry Atterbury of Haversham Sixty Pounds to be paid to him out of the Two Hundred Pounds Item I give to my Nephew Joseph Atterbury Son Henry Atterbury of Haversham the like Sum of Sixty Pounds to be paid to him out of the above mentioned Two Hundred Pounds This Two Hundred Pounds is in Mr Cornwall’s hands at Fenny Stanton Item I give to my Neice Margaret Teagle Twenty Pounds I also give to my Nephew Thomas Mathews Twenty Pounds I also give to my Neice Joanna Mathews Twenty Pounds These three last Twenty Pounds are to be paid till the Lady Haversham pays the Money for the Money is in her hands And if it should be paid and any Over plus the …..ain over and above what pays these three last Legacies I desire if may be shared equally between Henry Atterbury Joseph Atterbury and Elizabeth Atterbury of Haversham above mentioned and if any one of these above named Legatees should Married or caused any trouble to be given then I desire his Share may be divided amongst the rest and I do make ordain constitute and appoint my Sister Elizabeth Atterbury of Haversham Sole and full Executrix of this my last Will and Testament utterly revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time made And I do pronounce and declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Joanna Mathews the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Twenty Fourth September in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty and Seven and in the Twenty first Year of the Reign of our Most Gracious Lord King George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth Joanna Matthews Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Joanna Matthews the Testator as and for her last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who have hereunto Subscribed our Names as Witnesses in the Presence of the Testator and of Each other Mary Glover Ann Annesley Edwd Hobbs
