3. View from the South



This view from the south gives a good impression of the size of the church. It is 136 feet long, the main body is 61 feet wide and the spire is now 186 feet high. The original church was from the east window as far as the tower but without the north and south aisles and the north chapel. The current nave roof would have been lower as the present arcades were not built until the late 15th. Century.

This picture shows the nave roof being repaired in 1924 - 1925, the relative size of the workers shows how large the building is for a village church.


This is a drawing of Hanslope church after a severe storm in 1804 when the spire was destroyed. It was rebuilt 20 feet shorter than the original which had been 206 feet high.
