Organised by: Cosgrove Church

Find out about Cosgrove’s extraordinary heritage in the development of transport – the first English balloon aviator, the man that built the boats in Stony Stratford, the Grand Junction Canal, and ingenious local residents!

Join us at the historic Church of Cosgrove, South Northamptonshire for one of our famous teas in the garden. We will show you a slideshow with original photographs of the people and machines which brought power to this tiny village and sparked its transport revolution. Wander round the village, take a tour of the Church, stroll down the towpath and soak it all up!

Local historians will be on hand to show you points of interest. For a tiny village we have a huge number of stories!

No booking required.

Location: Take the A508 from Old Stratford and take the first turning on the right. The Church is on the right after a mile. Please leave spaces outside the Church for disabled visitors – go past the Church, park and walk back to us.

Access: Some disabled parking spaces are available outside the Church. This is an ancient listed building so that floor surfaces are very variable.

On-site accessible toilets. Assistance dogs welcome. Pushchair/pram friendly.
