John Willmer 1740

In the Name of God Amen I John Willmer of Old Stratford in the County of Northampton Gentleman being weake of body but of sound mind memory and understanding thanks be to God do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First I Commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer by whose mercy I do assuredly hope to obtain pardon of my Sins and to Inherit the Joys and Comforts of Eternal Life my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named in Sure and certain hopes and expectation of a joyfull resurrection and as concerning the Worldly Estate which of his Infinite mercy hath bestowed upon me I give and dispose here as followeth that is to say First I give and bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife Ann Willmer whom I doe make my one sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament all those Messuage Cottage or Tenement Scituated in Old Stratford in the said County of Northampton to pay my Debts Legacies and Funeral expences hereinafter particularly named I give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Willmer of Broughton in the County of Bucks five pounds I give unto my Brother Edward Willmer of Kislenbury [Kislingbury] in the County of Northampton Yeoman five pounds I give and bequeath unto my two loving Sisters Elizabeth Rogers and Grace Robins five pounds a peice within twelve months after my decease to buy them mourning I also give unto my Neice Patience Rogers Twenty shillings Twelve months after my decease to buy her Mourning I also give and devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Ann Willmer all that my house in Gloucester Street in the Parish of St. George the Martyr in the County of Middlesex and my house in Stanhope Street in the Parish of Saint Clement Dean [Danes] in the County aforesaid and also all that my house at Hammersmith in the Parish of Fulham in the County of Middlesex for the Term of her natural Life and after her decease then I give devise and bequeath the same unto John Wilmer of Olney in the County of Bucks Apothecary and Thomas Wilson of West Harding Street in the Parish of Saint Brides London to them and their heirs for ever upon paying the said Legacies by me hereafter bequeathed that is to say I give unto my Brother Richard Willmer the Sum of five pounds I give unto my Brother Edward Willmer Twenty pounds Twelve months after my Wifes decease I give unto my Brother Richard Rogers of Kislenbury in the County of Northampton five pounds Twelve months after my Wifes decease I also give and bequeath unto my two Sisters Elizabeth Rogers and Grace Robins five pounds a peice  twelve months after my Wifes decease I give and bequeath unto my two Nephews William Willmer and Richard Willmer five pounds a peice Twelve months after my Wifes Decease I give and bequeath unto my Nephews Edward Wilmer and my two Neices Mary Wilmer and Patience Wilmer five pounds apeice twelve Months after my Wifes decease I also give unto John Baucet [might be Bawcutt]  of Kislenbury in the County of Northampton son of Elizabeth Rogers five pounds Twelve months after my Wifes decease I give and bequeath unto my Nephews John Robins and Daniel Robins And also my two Neices Mary Robins and Grace Robins five pounds a peice  Twelve months after my Wifes decease I likewise give and bequeath to my Neice Patience Rogers five pounds Twelve months after my Wifes decease and my will and mind further is that the said Thomas Wilson shall have all such Plate household Goods and Linnen that my said Wife Ann Willmer shall leave at the time of her death And lastly I doe hereby revoke all former Wills by me heretofore  made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my Will contained in two sheets of paper to each of them set my hand and to the last my hand and seal this Thirtieth day of July in the year of our Lord 1736.
