The Stoke Goldington Millennium Stitchers start practising the stitches ready to work on a kit. Six months after receiving the grant, the planning and timescales had been worked out. From the beginning of 2001 we ran workshops to try the stitches out, and get a feel of the 12 hpi (holes per inch) canvas. So, by February 2001, kits were handed out to villagers who were keen to sew their own house. . |
![]() We continued to hold sewing sessions twice a week when we got together to collect more wool, resolve any difficult areas of work, and have a chat. As you can see, this was always helped down with a cup of coffee. |
