Millennium Wall Hanging

Workshops

The Stoke Goldington Millennium Stitchers start practising the stitches ready to work on a kit.

Six months after receiving the grant, the planning and timescales had been worked out.

From the beginning of 2001 we ran workshops to try the stitches out, and get a feel of the 12 hpi (holes per inch) canvas.

So, by February 2001, kits were handed out to villagers who were keen to sew their own house.

Workshoip

We continued to hold sewing sessions twice a week when we got together to collect more wool, resolve any difficult areas of work, and have a chat.

As you can see, this was always helped down with a cup of coffee.
