One of several buildings which served as the Village Post Office at different periods. Now one household, it was formerly divided into two. Along with Bird's Cottage it is thought to be one of the oldest dwellings in the village.

The building was listed in 1975 with listing particulars as follows.

SP 83 NE MILTON KEYNES MILTON KEYNES VILLAGE 4/73 Nos 4 & 5 The Old Post Office Medieval and C17 with later alterations. Timber framed, cased in white painted brick. Thatched roof with central and flanking chimneys, 3 dormers with 2-light casements. 1 storey and attic. 2 doors, 3 3-light casements and a 1-light window. Interior Medieval cruck truss in centreof house. Chamfered blades rising to a cambered collar carrying a tall king post supporting ridge with curved braces rising to ridge and principal rafters. Heavy smoke blackening to roof timbers. Central chimney part stone, part later brick. Large chamfered and stopped spine beam to central ground floor room.
