The cottage was formerly known as Ivy Homestead or just The Homestead. It was a small dairy farm tenanted latterly by the Baker family.

Timber framed with colourwashed brick infill and replacement half-hipped thatched roof, brick chimneys to LH of centre and at RH end. 1-storey and attic. Gable to street with 3-light casement to each floor, 2 eyebrow dormers to N. roofslope, lower wing on S. with exposed studwork on road side. Thatched roof with half-hipped gable.
