Buildings in Two Villages of Milton Keynes and Broughton
Bird's Barn

Building to left

The barn containing the Bird's carpenter's workshop was sadly allowed to deteriorate, despite being listed, to such an extent that it had to be demolished. Luckily its contentents were saved and were sent to the Milton Keynes Museum. Among the artefacts removed were plans for some of the woodwork in the House of Lords and it is possible that the Birds were subcontractors for the fitting of that building when it was new. These plans are now held in the House of Lords library. The building was delisted when it was demolished and the area is now the garden of the cottage.
