In the name of God amen I Thomas Woodward of Yardly-Gubbon in the Parish of Potter’s-Pury in the county of Northampton Potter being weak in Body but of a sound mind and memory blessed be God for the same do make & ordain this my last will and testament in manner form following my soul I commit into the Hands of my Dear Redeemer hoping & trusting in his merits & blood alone for pardon and salvation my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix herein afternamed and with regard to my temporal estate I dispose of as followeth I give to every one of my sons and daughters the sum of one shilling one year after my decease if the same be lawfully so ------------ All the rest of my residue and remainder (that is to say)the house wherein I now dwell with all its appurtenances with all my goods and chattels I give unto my beloved wife Abigail Woodward to be entirely at her own disposal whom I ordain constitute and appoint whole and solo executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seals on this Thirteenth day of March in the twentythird year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France Ireland King Defender of the Faith – and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and fourty nine
