In ye name of God Amen I thomas Smith alias Caves of Yardley Gobion in ye County of Northampton yeoman being weak in body but of sound and perfect memory thankes be to God do make this my last Will and testament in manner and forme following. ffirst I give my soule into ye hands of Allmighty God hoping through his mercy and ye merits of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for everlasting salvation. My body in christian burial to ye grave till a full resurrection to glory And as for my worldly goods and estate wherewith God hath blessed me I dispose of them as followeth Imprimis I give to ye poore of yardly gobion forty shillings. Item to ye poor of Potterpary twenty shillings Both to be paid within six months after my decease according to ye discretion of my Executors. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Goodman five pounds. Item to my Grandson George Goodman five pounds. Item I give and bequeath to my son in law George Goodman of Moultsoe [Moulsoe] in ye County of Bucks Clarke ye sum of one hundred and six pounds Item to my said son I give ye six oake trees that are upon ye green. Item to ye children of my brother Thomas Cole ten pounds to be paid ten yeares after my decease and ten shillings every year till that time comes. Item to my brother William Cole twenty shillings a year for ten years and at ye end of that time fifteen pounds to be paid to his children Item to my sister Elizabeth Scrivener I give ten pounds to be paid in ten years time by twenty shillings a year and after ten years I appoint fifteen pounds to be paid to her children Provided and my intent is that these legacies given to ye children of William Cole and Elizabeth Scrivener shall be divided and paid amongst them at ye discretion of my Executors. Item I give to my brother in law John Burd five pounds to be paid within 2 years after my decease. Item to my Cosen John Burd his son five pounds to be paid likewise within two years. Item I desire Mr Newell to partake my funeral sermon and do appoint him twenty shillings for his paines. Lastly all ye rest of my goods chattels and personall estate not disposed of otherwise my debts Legacies and funeral charges being first paid I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Caves and to my loving son in law George Goodman to be equally divided between them and I do make and ordain my said wife and my said son in law ioynt executors of this my last will and testament And do intreat my illeg Christopher Harrise and Thomas Hewes to be Overseers and aiding and assisting to this my Will for ye preserving of peace and I do give them ten shillings a piece for their paines.
