In the Name of God Amen the Seven and Twentieth day of April One thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Nine I Elizabeth Grubb of Yardley Gobion in ye County of Northampton widow Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following That is to say First and principally I commit and commend my soul into ye Hands of Almighty God who gave it me hoping thro’ ye Mercy and Mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to receive free Pardon and full Remission of all my Sins And my Body to ye Earth from whence it came to be decently interred therein at ye discretion of my Execut herein mentioned and named And as for such temporal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose of ye same as followeth Imprimis My Will is that my just Debts and Funeral Charges be paid and discharged by my Executor

 

Also I give and bequeath to my loving Brother John Brown of Yardley aforesaid that Bed and Bedsted he commonly lyeth on with ye Furniture thereunto belonging And also all my Money at Interest or else where.

 

Also My will is That if my said Brother John Brown shall happen to marry Then and in such Case he shall pay or cause to be paid the sum of Ten pounds a piece of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to my two sisters Anna Griffin of Molsoe in ye County of Bucks and Sarah Fooks of Yardley aforesaid (if they shall be then living) within ye space and term of Six Months next after his said Marriage.

 

Also My Will is That if my said Sisters Anna Grifin or Sarah Fooks or either of them sh all become a widow or widows in ye Life time of my said Brother John Brown Then he shall pay or cause to be paid ye sum of Ten pounds a pieces of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to such Widow or Widows within six months after her or their Husbands Death

 

Also I give and bequeath to each of my two Sisters a ffeather Bed and Bedsted with ye Furniture thereof But if my Sister Sarah Fooks and her daughter shall happen both to dye without further Issue Then my Will is that their Legacies shall go to my Sister Anna Griffin

 

Also I give to my Neece Elizabeth Griffin my Bellmettle Pottage Pot and my biggest gold Ring

 

Also I give and bequeath to my Neece Sarah Fooks my biggest Kettle and my lesser Gold Ring.

 

Also I give all my wearing Apparel to my two Sisters Anna Griffin and Sarah Fooks to be equally divided between them Lastly I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said Brother John Brown sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Day and Year first above written
