Elizabeth Wood 1787

 

In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Wood of Moore End in the Parish of Yardley Goben in the County of Northampton Widow being weak of body but sound and perfect mind and memory (praised be God for the Same) Do make and ordain this my last Will and testament (that is to say) First and Principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ to obtain pardon and remission of all my Sins, and to inherit everlasting life: And my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discreation of my Executors hereafter named and as for my Worldly Goods that it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I dispose of in the following manner Item I give Devise and bequeath to my three Daughters Mary Wood, Hannah Wood, and Susannah Wood the Sum off one Hundred Pounds a piece which Said Several Legacies or sums of money I will and order Shall be paid the said respective Legatees when they arive at the Age of twenty three Years I also give and Devise to each of my said Daughters Aforesaid twenty Pounds apiece when my son Thomas Wood arives at the Age of twenty two Years and in Case any or either of them should die before the said Legacies become due then either of their shares to be equally divided between the Brother and Sisters Share and share alike.

Item I give Devise and bequeath to my son Thomas Wood and his heirs and Assigns for ever all my Household Goods Chattels, Corn Hay and all manner of Grain Crops growing or may be growing upon my Farm with all bills Bonds and debts due to me at my decease to and for his own and use and benefit & behalfe but in Case my said son Should die in his noneage then all his effects to be equally divided between his Surviving Sisters Share and share Alike And lastly I do hereby nominate and Appoint my said Son Tho: Wood Executor and my Brother Joshua Wood and my Brother William Hawley Executors in Trust with my son aforesaid Of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this fifth day of November in the twenty eight Year of the reign of his Majesty George the third and in the Year of our Lord 1787

On the 8th Dec. 1787 Joshua Wood one of the Executors named in the within written Will was then sworn well and faithfully to Perform the same a power being reserved for the other Executors when etc. and that the Deced at the time of her death was not possessed of a personal Estate to the amount of Six Hundred Pounds
