This is the last Will and Testament of John Tarry of Yardley Gobion in the County of Northampton Farmer, being of sound Memory and Understanding First I will order and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary Expences shall be paid And I give and bequeath unto Thomas Smith of Great Houghton in the said County of Northampton Esquire All and singular my Cattle Stock Crops Corn Grain Hay Farming Utensils Implements in Husbandry Goods Household Furniture Monies Securities for Money Chattels Effects and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of whatever kind the same may be (Except my Wearing Apparel) Upon trust and Confidence that he the said Thomas Smith his Executors and Administrators do and shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease collect and get in my debts and sell dispose of and convert into Money such part of my said Personal Estate and Effects, so bequeathed to him upon trust as aforesaid, as shall not be Money And by and out of my ready Money and the Monies to arise from such Sale as aforesaid after paying the expences thereof and also paying thereout All my just debts funeral and testamentary expences I will order and direct my said Trustee his Executors and Administrators to pay out of the said Trust Monies the several Legacies or Sums of Money hereinafter mentioned to the respective persons hereinafter named (that is to say) the Sum of Ten pounds to my Brother William Tarry of Whittlebury in the said County of Northampton Carpenter to and for his use and benefit The sum of Fifty pounds to Christian Cockerill of Potterspury in the said County of Northampton for her use and benefit The Sum of Ten pounds to Elizabeth Stanton of  Yardley Gobion aforesaid for her use and benefit And the Sum of Five pounds to Mary Bass of Heathencote in the said County of Northampton for her use and benefit All which said Legacies or Sums of Money I direct shall be paid to the respective Legatees within twelve Months next after my decease And after the payments and deductions aforesaid I direct my said Trustee his Executors and Administrators to pay and equally divide all the then residue and remainder of the said Trust Monies unto and between my two Nephews William Tarry of Leckhampstead in the County of Buckingham Carpenter and John Tarry of Lillingstone Lovell in the County of Oxford Carpenter share and share alike And I give and bequeath my Wearing Apparel unto my said Brother William Tarry and my said two Nephews William and John Tarry to be divided between them by my said Trustee And my Will is and I do hereby direct and declare that  my said Trustee his Executors and Administrators shall and may in the first place retain and reimburse himself and themselves out of the said Trust monies All such Costs Charges trouble journies and expences which he or they shall sustain or be put unto in the Execution of this my Will And that my said Trustee his Executors or Administrators shall not be answerable or accountable for any more of the said Trust Monies than shall come to his and their hands nor for any loss which shall happen to the same or any part thereof unless through his or their wilful neglect And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Thomas Smith sole Executor of this my Will and do hereby revoke all other Wills and Testamentary Instruments heretofore by me made In Witness whereof I the said John Tarry the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper, and to each sheet thereof, set my hand and seal the Thirteenth day of November In the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen

On the 17th day of May 1817 Thomas Smith of Great Houghton in the County of Northampton Esquire the sole Executor named in the above Will was then sworn well and faithfully to perform the same according to Law and that the said John Tarry deceased at the time of his death which happened on the 16th day of April was not possessed of a Personal Estate to the Amount of Four hundred and fifty Pounds
