Edward Woodward 1751

 

In the Name of God Amen I Edward Woodward of Yardly Gobion in the County of Northampton being in perfect health of Body and of a Sound Memory, Praised be Allmighty God for it; Doe make this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following; that is to say First I bequeath my Body to the Earth as it were, to be Buried after the Manner of Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter Mentioned next I Commend my Soul to the Power of Allmighty God that gave it, in a sure and Certain hope of the Resurrection at the last Day Through the Merits of Jesus Christ my dear Redeemer who Dyed for me and all Mankind Imprimis I give and Devise, unto my Son Richard the Sum of one Shilling of good and Lawful Money of Great Brittain to be paid within the Term of one Year and a Day next after my Decease Item I give and Devise, unto my Daughter Ann Wife of John Scott, the Sum of one Shilling of good and Lawful Money of Great Brittain, to be paid within the Term of one Year and a Day next after my Decease. Item I give and Devise unto my Son John whom I make Sole and whole Executor of this my last Will and Testament all those my Stock of Cattle as Horses Mares Cows Sheep Hogs &c as likewise all my Utencils of Husbandry as Wagons Carts Plows Harrows &c Together with all such Crop or Stock of Wheat Corn Beans and Hay that shall be Standing Growing or being at my Decease in and upon the Premises which I hold by Virtue of Coppy From the Right Honourable the Earl of Euston; as likewise all my ware and apparel together with all other my worldly Goods and Chattels to me belonging or in any wise Appertaining to him and his heirs For Ever. he my said Son John paying unto my Servant Ann Harris out of the before Devised Goods and Chattels the Sum of Seven Pounds of Good and Lawful Money of Great Brittain which is due to her for Wages but if it shall happen that my Son John shall neglect or Refuse to pay unto the said Ann Harris or her Council Learned in the Law, the Aforesaid Sum of Seven Pounds, that then and in such Case it shall and may be Lawful for her or them to make Seasure and Sale of any part or parcel of the before Devised Goods and Chattels to Satisfie themselves for the Aforesaid Sum of Seven Pounds together with all such Charge as shall accrue therein Returning to him my said Son John or his heirs the overplus and this I do Declare to be my Last Will and Testament Written upon one sheet of Paper and Signed with my Hand and Seal in the Presence of John Hillyer and John Boswell and William Daniel Dated the third Day of December in the Year of our Lord 1751
