In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Harris of Yardly Gobion in the County of Northampton Molster being of Perfect Memory Tho Weak of Body Do Make This My Last Will and Testament In Manner and form following that is to say first I Bequeath my Soul to the Power of Almighty God that Gave it and my Body to the Earth as it were to be Buried after the Manner of Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executricks hereafter Mentioned Imprimis I Give and Devise to my son John Harris the sume of Two shillings and sixpence of Good and Lawful Money of Great Britain Item I give and Devise unto My son Christopher the Sume of Two shillings and Sixpence of Like Lawfull Money of Great Britain Item I give and Devise unto My son Leonard the Sume of Two shillins and Sixpence of Like Lawfull Money of Great Britain Item I give and Devise unto my son William the Sume of Two Shillings and Sixpence Item I give and Devise unto my son Henry the Sume of Two Shillings and Six pence Item I Give And Devise unto my Son Author the Sume of Five Pounds of Good and Lawfull Money of Great Britain which Sume I Order Require to be Paid with him My Said Son Author so soon as he shall Attain to the Age of Fourteen Years in Order to Put him Prentice to some such Trade as My Beloved Wife shall think Proper if it so happen that she shall be then Living Otherwise to missing Orderd by whom she shall Nominate and Appoint Item I give and Devise to my Daughter Mary Wife of Joseph Boreman the Sume of Two Shillings and Sixpence of Good and Lawful Money of Great Britain Item I give and Devise unto My Daughter Elizabeth the Sume of Two Shillings and Sixpence of Like Lawfull Money Item I give and Devise unto my Daughter Ann the Sume of Two Shillings and Sixpence of Like Lawfull Money Item I give and Devise unto my Daughter Tomisin the Sume of Two Shillings and Sixpence Item I give and Devise unto my Daughter Sibbellow the Sum of Two Shillings and Sixpence of Like Lawful Money of Great Britain and All other my Worldly Goods and Chattles which it hath Pleased almighty God to Bless me with as likewise my House at Potters Pury I Give and Devise unto my Beloved Wife Elizabeth Harris for and During the Term of her Natural Life and at her Decease to whom she shall think Proper to Bequeath it and I Likewise Do hereby make her my said Wife Sole and Whole Executricks of this my Last Will and Testament Written Upon one sheet of Paper and Signed with my hand and Seal in the Presence of Richard Brown and John Hillyer and Richard Dawson this Third Day of Aprill in the Year of Our Lord 1752

When the Survey was taken there was Surveyed to William Brown the following Premisses which he held by Copy of Court Roll Vizt

After William Brown died John Hillier had there Premisses in right of his Wife Anne Daughter and Assignee of William Brown. She dying the 14 March 1732. John Hillier took and held them at the Rent of £30 a Year until Michaelmas 1737 And then they were let Vizt

To William Clarke the Land in Cosgrove Field for 5.0.0

The late Thomas Harris’s Rent was £31.5.0 a Year which arose thus Vizt.

The 4 June 1752 the above mentioned John Hillier gave in a particular of all the Lands which Elizabeth the Widow of Thomas Harris has for the Rent of £27.5.0 a Year the abstract whereof is as follows Vizt.

For the £4.0s.0d for Premises late Grubb she has 11 Acres Comon Field &
  2 Roods Meadow And of theseabout an Acre, or An Acre & an halflie in Cosgrove Fields, and all therest in Yardley Field
0.15.0 for Premisses late Scrivener Mrs Harris has 2 Acres CommonField, of which 2 Roods are inCosgrove & the rest in Yardley Field
0.15.0 for Premisses late Georges She has 3 (not 2 only) Acres in Yardley Field
0.15.0 for Premisses late Stevens Hillier takes no Notice of these
25.0.0 for Premisses late Hillier She has for [£]21: l of it after deducting[£]4 l for the Assart, Vizt 46 Acres 1 Land & ½ a Rood in Yardley Common Fields, and 4 Acres & 1 Rood of Meadow in Yardley Meadow All these are Computation Acres

 

Hence it Appears that Widow Harris has for her Rent of £27.5.0 a Year 68 Acres 3½ Roods by Computation in the Common Fields & Meadows of Yardley except about 2 Acres of it that is in Cosgrove Which makes something more that 58 Acres Statute Measure reekoning 6 Acres by Computation equal to 5 Statute. And 58 Acres Statute at 10s an Acre as they are Valued one with another round in Yardley Fields & Meadows comes to 29.0.0 a Year which is £1.15.0 more than what she pays.
