In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Caves als Smith of Whaddon in the County of Bucks yeoman being weake in body but of sound and perfect minde and Memory thanks be Given to Almighty God for the same doe make and ordaine This my Present last will and testament in manner illeg Lag… illeg (that is to say) first and Principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the illeg [dea]th and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to illeg everlasting life and my body I commit to ye Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter Named And as touching ye Disposition of all such temporal Estate as It hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me, I give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath Unto my son Michael Caves alis Smith of Yardly Gobion in the parish of Potterspury in the County of Northampton and to my son in law Thomas James of Whaddon aforesaid All that my freehold Messuage Tenement or Dwelling house Scituate and being in Yardley Gobion aforesaid and now in the occupation of Mary Smith and the premises of Elizabeth Brown being on or towards the south thereof together also with all Orchards Gardens Yards back sides Trees Mounds fences water courses way] [me]ssages barns stables buildings Ediffices Commons proffitts and appurtenances whatsoever to the aforesaid Messuage one Dwelling and premisses belonging or appertaining I give and bequeath as aforesaid to my son Michael Caves alis Smith and my son in law Thomas James their heirs and assignes for ever to the Only propper use benefit and behooffe of Michael and Thomas aforesaid their heirs and assignes for ever share and share alike (Subject nevertheless to pay my funeral Charges and Legacies hereafter Named and sett down Item I give and bequeath to my Eldest son Thomas the sum of one shilling Item I give and bequeath Unto my daughter Mary one shilling Item all the rest and residue of my goods and Chattles ready money and all other my Personall be the same in what kind soever not here before bequeathed) I give and bequeath Unto my son Michael Caves alis Smith and Thomas James aforesaid son in law whom I make and ordain full and sole Executors of this my present last will and Testament Declaring this [pre]sent Instrument to containe and being my last will and Testament And I doe hereby Disanull and make void all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made In Wittness hereof I the said Thomas Caves alis Smith the Testator have here missing my hand and Seal this twelfth day of May In the Year of our Lord 1722
