In the Name of god Amen the xxth day of ffebruary in the yeare of our Lord 1620 I William Boughton als Smyth of yardlie Gobion within the parish of Potterspury in the County of Northampton husbandman being sick in Bodie but of perfect mynde and good remembrance thankes be to Allmightie god doe ordaine and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge That ys to saie ffirst I Commend my Soule into the handes of Allmightie God my maker and to his sonne Jesus Christ my redeemer by whose merits death and bitter passion I only trust and verilie believe to be saved And my bodie to be buried in the Churchyarde of Potterspury aforesaide Item I geve and bequeath to the mother Church of Peterborough iiijd Item whereas I the sayd William Boughton als Smyth and Alice my wife have bargained and sould to John Browne thelder of Yardlie Gobion the aforesaid yeoman and to his heires and assignes forever ffower Acres of Arrable Landes and Leies with thappurtences be they more or lesse lieinge dispersed in divers places within the feildes Lymmitts parishes [boundes] and meares of Cosgrave and ffurthoe in the said County of Northampton [particularlie] mentioned butted bounded expressed conteyned and specified in one paire [of Indentures] of absolute bargaine and saile beareinge date the xxjth day of ..e.ber last past before the daie of the date of this my last Will made be[tweene] me the said William Boughton als Smyth and Alice my Wife of the [one partie] and the said John Browne of the other parte as in and by the said Indentures illeg Referrance be hadd more att Lardge doeth and may appeare And illeg also I the said William and Alice my Wife haveinge bargained and sould To Edward Beauchamp of Cosgrave in the County aforesaid gent his Heyres and assignes forever Tow acres of arable Land and meadowe with the appurtenances by estimation be they more or lesse lieing and beinge dispersed in d[ivers] places within the feildes Lymitts parishes boundes and meares of Cosgrave and said in the said County of Northampton particularlie mentioned butted bounded expressed conteyned and specified in one paire of Indentures of absolute bargaine and saile bearing date the viijth day of the moneth of January last past before the date of this my last Will made betweene me the said William Boughton als Smyth and Alice my wife of the one partie and the said Edward Beauchamp of the other parte as in and by the said Indentures last recited doeth and may att large alsoe appere Nowe my Will ys that Alice my Wife and henry my eldest sonne and the Heires of them and eyther and every of them shall att all tymes hereafter upon the reasonable request Costs and Charges in the lawe of them they said John Browne and Edward Beauchamp there or one of there heires or assignes well and truly observe performe fullfill and keepe all and every severall Covenants grantes bargaines sailes or titles and agreements whatt soever with one the parte and behalfe of me the said William Boughton als Smyth and Alice my wife and eyther of us, our and eyther of our heires Executors and administrators and every of them are and ought to be Well and trulie Observed performed fulfilled and kept, accordinge to the purport effect and true meaninge of the before mentioned particuler Two pair of Indentures and every of them without any manner of fraude Covin or further delay Item I give and bequeath all the rest of my Landes Tenements and Hereditaments nott bargained souled and Conveyed as aforesaide Scituate and beinge in Yardley Gobion aforesaide and in the parishes of Potterspury Cosgrave and furthoe in the County of Northampton to such person and persons use and uses as in one deed of feeffment hereto fore by me made sealed and delivered in trust unto Edward Woodward and Richard Scott of yardley aforesaide husbandmen where unto reference be hadd ys limited enfeeffed and Confirmed as in and by the same doeth and may appeare Item I give and bequeath to my sonne said Henry the somme of xxxtie shillings of lawfull engilshe money to be paied hym when he shalbe of the age of xx and 5 years Item I give and bequeath to William my sonne the some of 5l of lawfull money when he shalbe of the age of xxv yeares, Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Joane the somme of 5l of like money when she shalbe of the age of xxv yeares Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann the some of five poundes of like money when she shall come to the age of xx[v] yeares And if any of my said Children shall happen to decease there nat[ural] life or lives before the shall Live to be att there severall ages Then my Will [is] that there and every of there portion or portions soe decreaseinge shalbe due to be p.. unto my foresaid Children (Vizt) William Joane and Anne or else to soe many [of them] as shall survive and live to be att there severall ages before Lymmitted and app… none other All the rest of my goodes and Chattells moveable as… Legacies paied and my funeral expences discharged I give and bequ[eath to] my Wife Whom I doe appoint ordaine and make the only Executor missing Last Will and Testament and I doe desire my Brother missing Scott and my Loveinge neighbour John Browne the younger husbandman to be the Overseers of this my last Will and Testament and I doe give and bequeath to them for there Labours xijd a peece And I doe hereby utterly [revoke] all former Wills and Testaments heretofore by me made or bequeathed and in token that this ys my last Will and Testament I the saied William Boughton als Smyth have here unto sett my hande
