The Cricket Club

The Cricket Club - Bletchley Park

  • We have yet to find out if he played the game but Herbert Leon was a keen supporter of cricket

  • At one time he was president of the county team

  • The Bletchley ground was one of the best in the county

The cricket pitch was looked after by the head groundsman Mr. Heather, who always cut the grass on the pitch himself. In later years the groundsman was Mr. Cox who lived at the Lodge.

The ground was the home of Bletchley Town Cricket Club, but it frequently hosted minor counties and other matches such as between the Stock Exchange and the Leon Bros. IV.
