Pack Visit to Central Milton Keynes Police Station

After Grand Howl and inspection, P.C. Shaw presented the Monthly Shield to White Six.

We then made our way to Central Milton Keynes led by P.C. Shaw in his Police Van who had Richard Thornton as a passenger or had he been arrested we wondered?

We were met by P.C. White at the main entrance, who explained the importance of the Party being quiet and well behaved as we were shown inside the Station as many officers were hard at work solving crimes. He led us around the outside of the Station explaining that this was the largest Police Station in Europe and many people worked within its walls 24 hours a day. The security cameras were pointed out and also the entrance for arrested persons to be received by the Officers.

A traffic police car was preparing to go out to an incident and so the driver explained how he caught law breaking motorists before he let the Cub Scouts swarm all over his high speed vehicle. We then made our way to the stables where the Thames Valley Police horses were kept. The Pack thought the horses were wonderful except Piers Walker who unfortunately had his finger nipped by Kilroy. Piers said next time he went he would certainly bring Sugar lumps.

We were then shown inside the Station and visited the photographers and finger print room, control room and the many offices. A police dog handler then showed us his dog and explained the type of incidents he and his well trained dog dealt with.

After saying our farewells to P.C. White, P.C. Shaw distributed badges etc. to the Cub Scouts. We then left the Police Station to return to Hanslope for 8.15pm. to awaiting parents having had a very interesting visit and the whole party were very more aware on how our Police worked to make our country a better place to live.
