St. George’s Day Parade at Hanslope

This year the District held the St. George’s Day Parade and Service at Hanslope. The rehearsals for the Service and Flags took place on the Saturday April 23rd at Hanslope Church.

The Cub Scouts, Scouts and Leaders met at the Headquarters at 1.45 p.m. to enable uniform inspection to be carried out before the whole Group marched to the School headed by the G.S.L. At the School the Groups from the District were organised into the order for the March. At 2.25 p.m. the Bletchley Boys Brigade Band led the march to the Church via Long St. Road, Western Drive, Castlethorpe Road and High Street.

During the Service William Griffin, Adrian Olive and Paul Redman (Cub Scouts) and Peter Firth and Stephen Leathersich (Scouts) were called upon to participate in the proceedings. After the Service the March back to the School took in Gold Street where the Parade was dismissed. Our G.S.L. decided that the Group would march back to Headquarters where he thanked all the lads for an excellent turn out.
