Joseph Churchill 1727

In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Churchill of Castle Thrup in the County of Bucks Yeoman being in but indifferent Health of Body but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory Blessed and praised be Almighty God for the same And calling to mind ye uncertainty of this Life Do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in Manner following That is to say First and principaly I commit and commend my soul into ye Hands of Almighty God who gave it me hoping thro’ ye Mercy and Mediation of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my my Sins And my Body to the Earth to be decently interred therein at the Discretion of my Executors of this my last Will and Testament And as for such worldly Goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and devise ye same as followeth

Imp I will and devise that my ffuneral Charges being first place paid and discharged
Itm My Will is that all my just Debts due to any person be paid and satisfied by my Executor and Executrix herein after menconed and Named
Itm I give to my Son John Churchil ye Sum of five Shillings
Itm I give to my Daughter Jane Kitely one Shilling
Itm I give to my Son Rosaman Churchill ye Sum of ffifty pounds
Itm I give to my Son Benjamin Churchill ye Sum of ffifty pounds
Itm I give to my Daughter Phebe Churchill ye Sum of ffifty pounds
Itm I give and devise all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances scituate and being in Steeple Claydon in ye County of Bucks to my Son Joseph Churchill and his Heirs for ever
Itm I make constitute ordain and appoint my loving Wife Judith Churchill and my Son Joseph Churchill Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the fourteenth day of February Anno Domi 1723/4
