John Mills senr. 1663

In the name of God Amen: The One and Twenth day of August in the yeare of our Lord God according to the Computation of the Church of England One Thousand Six Hundren ffifty Seven, I John Mills the elder of Castell Thropp in the county of Bucks blacksmith being somwhat weake of Body but of good and perfect remembrance (Praised be God) doe hereby declare this to by my last Will and Testament, And I doe hereby revoke all former wills and Testaments by me made; ffirst and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping illeg through the only merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be made partaker of Life everlasting, And I commend my Body to the Earth whereof it is made and to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor here after named Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Mills ffifteene pounds of lawful English money to be paid unto him in manner and forme following, That is to say the summe of Seven pounds and Ten shillings being the moity or one halfe thereof within one yeare next after my decease, And the other Seven pounds and Tenn shillings within Six Months next after the former payment of the moity or one halfe as aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Michaell Mills the summe of Twenty Pounds of lawfull English money to be paid unto him by my Executor soe soone as he shall accomplish the full age of One and Twenty yeares. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Panter and to her Six Children the summe of ffive Pounds of lawfull English money to be paid within one yeare next after my decease by my Executor, And to be distributed among them at the discretion of the said Elizabeth. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alice Bell and her two Children the summe of Three Pounds of lawfull English money to be paid unto them within one yeare next after my decease, And to be distributed at the discretion of the said Alice. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter in Law Elizabeth Mills of London Southwarke the sume of Two shillings Six pence of lawfull English money to be paid to her by my Executor. Item I give to my brother Richard Mills Twelve Pence of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto Richard Butcher Twelve Pence of lawfull English money. Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Butcher Twelve Pence of lawfull English money. Item all the rest and residue of my goods and Chattells whatsoever my legacies and debts and ffunerall Expences discharged I give and bequeath unto my sonne Richard Mills whom I make and ordaine my wholl and sole Executor of this my Will and Testament, In witness whereof I have here unto subscribed my name and sett my seale the day and yeare above written in the presence of those witnesses whose names are hereunto subscribed
