In the Name of God Amen I Charles Panter of Castle Thropp in the County of Bucks Laceman being at present in good health of Body and of sound and disposing Mind and Memory (praised be God) Doe make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) ffirst and Principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my Creator hoping through his Mercy and the Merits of my Saviour Jesus Christ I shall enjoy eternal Life My Body I remit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named And as for that Worldly Estate which it hath pleased god to bless me withall (after payment of my just Debts) I give and dispose thereof as followeth (to wit) I give and devise and bequeath all and singular my Messuages Mills lands Tenements and Hereditaments in the severall Parishes of Castle Thropp and Hanslopp in the County of Bucks and Cosgrave in the County of Northampton or in either of them or elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain unto my Nephew Richard Panter and his Heirs for ever Subject and Chargeable with the Payment of the several Annuities hereinafter mentioned (that is to say) subject to and Chargeable with the Payment of One annuity or the yearly Sum of Twenty pounds unto my Brother John Panter for and during the term of his natural life at two of the most usual ffeast days in the year (that is to say) the ffeast days of the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary and saint Michael the Archangel by equal Portions The first Payment thereof to be made on such of the said ffeast days as shall first and next happen after my decease And my Mind and Will is That as often as any default shall be made in Payment of the said Annuity of Twenty pounds or any part thereof by the Space of Twenty one days next after either of the ffeast days aforesaid That then it shall and may be lawfull to and for my said Brother John Panter or his Assigns to enter upon any of the said Messuages Mills Lands Tenements Hereditaments by me devised to my said Nephew Richard Panter as aforesaid and out of which the said yearly sum of Twenty pounds is to be issuing and payable and to make Distressor Distresses for the same or any part thereof from time to time as Occasion shall require And further Subject to and Chargeable with the payment of One Annuity or clear yearly Sum of Ten pounds unto my Sister Elizabeth the Wife of Jonathan Ratley for and during the term of her natural Life And also with the Payment of the annuity or yearly Sum of Ten pounds unto my Sister Mary the Wife of John Tooth for and during the Term of her natural Life to be paid to each of them my said two Sisters at or upon the two several ffeast days before mentioned with like power of Distress for Non Payment thereof as aforesaid And my further Will and Mind is that the said two several yearly Sums of Ten pounds be paid only to the proper hands of them my said Sisters respectively and not to the hands of their respective Husbands nor to the hands of any other Person or Persons that may harm the same by virtue of any Assignment or otherwise And that the same shall not be at the Disposal of or subject or liable to the Debts or Engagements of their respective Husbands but only at each of their own sole and separate Disposal And that the Receipt of Each of them my said two Sisters alone and without her Husband shall from time to time notwithstanding her Coverture be a sufficient Discharge to my said Nephew Richard Panter or to the Person or Persons who shall pay the same to her or them And as to all my Personal Estate of what nature kind or quality soever I direct that the same be disposed of by my Executors hereinafter named for the most and best Profit and Advantage that they can or may And as fast as my said Personal Estate shall be disposed of got in and turned into ready Money (my Debts Legacies and ffuneral Expences being thereout first paid and satisfied) I will and bequeath the same to goe and be divided from time to time by my said Executors or the Survivor of them unto and amongst the four Daughters of my late Brother Richard Panter deceased and the Child or Children of my said Sister Elizabeth Ratley by William Bull her first Husband deceased and the Children of my said Sister Mary Tooth by her first Husband Samuel Sherrington also deceased or unto and amongst such of them as shall be then living equally share and share alike And in Case my said Brother John Panter or my said two Sisters or their respective Husbands any or either of them or any or either of the Children to whom I have bequeathed my said Personal Estate shall comence any Suits or Suits in any Court of Law or Equity or other Court whatsoever or by any Ways or Means sue molest or disturb or cause to be sued molested or disturbed my Executors hereinafter named or any other Peron or Persons whatsoever to whom any thing is by me given in this my Will from the receiving quiet enjoyment and possessing of what is by me herein given as aforesaid and in such manner as is herein mentioned Then my Will and Meaning is that all and every the Legacy and Legacies by me given to my said Brother John Panter and my said Sisters Elizabeth Ratley and Mary Tooth or to the Child or Children to whom I have bequeathed my said Personal Estate either or any of them who shall so sue molest or disturb my said Executors in the due Execution of this my Will shall cease determine and be absolutely void And that then and from thenceforth I doe give and bequeath all and every the Legacy and Benefit which I had in this Will given and intended to and for such Person or Persons unto my said Nephew Richard Panter his Executors Administrators and Assigns And I nominate and appoint my said Nephew Richard Panter and my ffriend Mr. Richard Sandwick joint Executors of this my Will And for their Care and Trouble in the Execution thereof I give unto Each of them the Sum of ffifty pounds And Lastly revoking all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made I doe declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to the first sheet of this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of Paper set my hand and to the second or last sheet thereof my hand and seal the Eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty five A Codicil to be annexed to and made part of the last Will and Testament of me Charles Panter of Castle Thropp in the County of Bucks Laceman Whereas in and by my last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date on or about the Eighteenth day of September in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty five I have given devised and bequeathed All and singular my Messuages Mills Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in the several parishes of Castle Thropp and Hanslopp in the County of Bucks and Cosgrave in the county of Northampton or in either of them or elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain unto my Nephew Richard Panter and his Heirs And whereas I am Entitled unto a certain Messuage or Tenement with the Malthouse and Appurtenances thereunto belonging Scituate and being in or near Stony Stratford in the Parish of Wolverton in the County of Bucks And also to a Close of Land lying in the Parish of Calverton in the said County of Bucks Which Premisses were intended to be Comprized in the said Devise to my said Nephew Richard Panter in and by my said Will as aforesaid And although no particular Mention is therein made thereof yet the same will pass thereby to my said Nephew and his Heirs Now I doe hereby revoke so much of my said Will and of the Devise therein contained to my said Nephew Richard Panter as takes in or concerns the said Messuage or Tenement and Close of Land with the Appurtenances before mentioned And I do give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my Niece Hannah Sherrington Spinster for and during the term of her natural Life And from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the said Messuage Close of Land and Premisses in the respective Parishes of Woolverton and Calverton aforesaid or in either of them unto my said Nephew Richard Panter and his Heirs forever And I do in all respects (Except only as to the said Messuage and Close of Land) ratify and confirm my said Last Will and Testament and do declare the Codicil to be annexed to and part thereof In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the seventh day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty six And in the Ninth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith and so forth. This Will was proved at London with a Codicil annexed on the Twelfth day of May in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty Six granted to Richard Sandwick with the other Executor named in the Will
