Brickfield House
(now Village Farm Barn)

The Thornton Brickfield House was a drying shed and cottage built in the mid 1850's and did not make all the bricks that were needed for the building of the Cavadish rebuild of the hall in the 1850's. A note was found in Betty Bunce's Book, 'Thornborough Past & Present', stating that bricks were imported from Gayton, Northamptonshire.
