Whist Drive and Dance Accounts January 13th 1928

A Committee Meeting was held in the School on June 13th.
Present. There were present Messrs. W. Allen, R W Beasley, C Edwards, P Morton.

Minutes. The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were read and confirmed.

W D & Dance. The Secretary presented the balance sheet for Whist Drive & Dance held on June 10th which showed a profit of £5. 0. 0.
The Treasurer was directed to forward the proceeds to the Northampton Hospital.

Meeting held 3rd Oct 1927
Present. W Allen, P Morton, R Beasley, S Markham, C Edwards, G Webb.

Committee. The above were put on the Committee.

Subscription. It was agreed that the subscription be as before and the Nights be W & T as before.

Cards. Proposed by Mr Edwards, seconded by Mr Morton and carried that 6 new packs of cards be bought, that New Posters be ordered.

B. Tournament. Pped & carried that a Billiard Tournament be held forthwith.

Lamps. Proposed & carried that the Secretary buy two New Lamps.

Committee Meeting. Proposed by Mr Morton, seconded by Mr Edwards that a Committee Meeting be held the first Monday in each month.

A Committee Meeting held on Nov 18th 1927
Present. P Morton, W Allen, R Beasley, G Webb, S Markham, C Edwards.

Finance. Subscriptions for October 12/-.
Secretary presented accounts for W & D held on Nov 4th, showing profit of £2. 1. 9. Next Dec 3rd. Secretary presented accounts for Lamps 5/- each.

Vote of thanks. Ppd by Mr Morton, seconded by Mr Allen that a vote of thanks be passed to *** Cook first Lady **

Complaints. Letter of complaint received as to noise in Club. Ppd & agreed that the Secretary write and acknowledge the letter expressing the Committee's regrets and had handed the letter to the School **.

Billiard Table. Proposed by Mr Edwards, seconded by Mr Markham that the Committee look for another Billiard Table.

A Committee Meeting held on Nov 25 1927
Present. C Edwards, W Allen, G Webb, P Morton, R Beasley
Billiard Table. It was reported that Mr S Markham had placed before the Committee an advert he had seen in the N'ton chronicle for a Orme's Byon Table, ** Bully - *** & *** - 4 cues, slate board, for £6. 10. 0.
The Secretary reported that he had viewed the Table that it was in good condition. Though smaller than the present one, and had made a provisional offer of £5 which was refused. The *** ultimately ** accepting a provisional £6.
Proposed by Mr Edwards and seconded by Mr Morton that we purchase the Table at £6. Carried unanimously by
The Secretary offered to write to Mr Wood with a view to arranging Transport.

Membership. The Question of Membership arose i.e. Members from outside the Parish. Proposed and carried unanimously that no members be allowed to join who did not live in the Parish. But that as customary in all Clubs and as passed at a previous meeting, Members be allowed to bring friends occasionally.
It was suggested that the frequency of the use of this privilege be a matter of loyalty and consideration among the Members.

Committee Meeting held in the School on Monday 5th December in the School.
Present. W Allen, S Markham, R Beasley, PO Morton, C Edwards, G Webb.

Minutes. The Minutes of the last Meeting were read and confirmed.

Billiard Table. The Secretary reported that he was making arrangements for the Transport of the new Byon Table.

Treasurer reported that after the Club had paid for the Table - which was done - there was a deficit of about 10/-.

W D & Dance. The secretary presented the accounts of the W D & Dance held on Dec 2nd which showed a profit of £2. 5. 0. The Committee examined the accounts, and after the amount made was handed to the Treasurer. The subscriptions for the month was also paid in.

Committee Meeting
A special Committee Meeting was held to decide as to Charges for Playing Billiards.

Present. W Allen, R Beasley, C Edwards, P Morton, G Webb. S Markham.

Billiard Charges. After some discussion proposed, seconded and carried that no charge be made for Billiards as heretofor, but the subscription be increased to 1/3 a month.

Committee Meeting held in the School 2nd Jan 1928.
Present. Messrs. P Morton, R Beasley, G Webb, S Markham, W Allen.
Finance. The Subscriptions for December 13/6 was paid in and also 1/- from G. F.S. for two weeks.

Whist Drive and Dance. - for Church Lead Repairs, Grafton. The Committee very generously unanimously decided to hold the next Whist Drive and Dance on Jan 13th for the Repairs to Grafton Church Lead - which is fully in need of repair and will cost £15 to £20.
The Committee decided to try and get both Prizes and Refreshments given.
