Whilst much of the 400+ piece Milton Keynes University Hospital art collection is available to view in and around the Hospital, this is a rare chance to have a guided tour of some of the works featured on our curated Art Trail, and perhaps experience some of those which are a little off the beaten track.

For more than three decades, Milton Keynes’ main Hospital, now Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) has grown its art collection to more than 400 pieces, and is the largest permanent public collection in the Borough. Mainly 2-dimensional, The Collection includes some twenty sculptures which can be found mainly outside of the building, and within several of the courtyards on site.

From camels to snails, tapestry to photographs, this collection provides perhaps the widest range of media, subjects and scale of any collection in Milton Keynes.

Whilst The Collection features works by several internationally acclaimed artists, it proudly exhibits many works by lesser known artists, and several works which depict Milton Keynes from its earliest years of development.

Location: Meet in the Hospital’s Main Entrance Reception. Parking is available opposite to the main reception and drop-off point, in the multi-storey car park.

Access: Full wheelchair access. On-site disabled parking. On-site accessible toilets. Pushchair/pram friendly.

Visitors should be mindful that we are a fully working hospital.

Booking: Short tour 1 hour approximately- maximum 8 per tour. Full tour 2 hours approximately – maximum 8 per tour.
