Working in the fields

As the infilling round the houses progressed we were able to concentrate on the different fields.

Each field had been numbered on the cartoon with the appropriate stitch and colour from the palette defined

Finally, by Easter 2002, the four strips of canvas were joined vertically and the remaining fields sewn across the joins.

Once the canvas was in one piece, we worked on the centre and the borders at the same time. Here we are adding hedges around the fields.

As you can see some of the flower lozenges are already in place.
