Photo 2002. Same view as above. The fireplace is of the same type as in the south drawing room (38). The gilding has been damaged by tape being used to secure draft-proofing.

Photo 2002. The room is of classic Victorian Gothic style c. 1850. The view is of the opposite end of room which is now used as a meeting room. The seat round the fireplace came originally from the front entrance hall and was covered in buttoned brown velvet. When recovered in red (?1999), unfortunately the buttoning was omitted.
