Charles William Selby Lowndes who was to become the last Lowndes Rector of North Crawley was born on the 18th of November 1815 in Winslow and Baptised on the 5th April 1819 in Whaddon.
His father William Selby Lowndes died on 18th May 1840 in Winslow when Charles was 24 years old. Within 6 months he had married Laura Ann Broughton in Bletchley on 2nd November 1840.
They were to have 2 daughters born in Whaddon, Laura Elizabeth in 1841 and Fanny Isabella in 1844 and also a son Charles William Selby Lowndes on 17th September 1845 in Whaddon .
A daughter Mary Jemima was registered as born at North Crawley also in 1845 and another daughter Henrietta Jane was born there in 1847.
The census of 1851 records him as living in North Crawley aged 36 and in 1852 his mother Ann Eleanor Isabella died at Whaddon Hall.
Charles became Rector of North Crawley in 1856 when his Uncle Thomas resigned to take up a living in East Worldham in Hampshire.
His wife Laura Ann died in January 1865 registered at Newport Pagnell and later on 18th October 1881 he married Fanny Nina Lily Clode at St Mary Willesden who lived on until 1934. Charles had twin daughters by Fanny, Nina Gwendoline Lilly and Mary Isabella born in 1883.
He died on 22nd September 1899 registered at Newport Pagnell and was the last Lowndes Rector of North Crawley.
