Robert was born in 1772 in London to Illegitimate Robert Trevor and his 37 years old wife Mary Cock who he married in 1771 when he was 42 years old and Comptroller General of the Post Office. When his father died in 1785 he inherited Filliols Manor in North Crawley together with the Astwood Estate which was all in the Trevor settlements.
These were sold to Thomas Boswell in 1807.
