Gary Marshall talks to us about the great fires of Stony Stratford in the eighteenth century. Stony Stratford seems to have been particularly unfortunate in suffering a series of fires during the first half of the eighteenth century. This talk will look at new research from a variety of sources including insurance records, to try to answer questions about the causes of these fires and their impact on the Stony community.
